Some germs have the ability to transfer their resistance directly to others: this is an astonishing phenomenon; one could almost call it a bacterial sexual process, whereby one bacterium transfers a part of its DNA (called a plasmid) to another through a narrow tube. This kind of genetic transfer of 'information' conferring resistance to a 'poison' can also take place between different species of bacteria.

NOTE: The 'information' that is responsible for the resistance was already present in nature. Again, there is no evidence that new information has emerged, but rather, albeit ingenious, only the transfer of existing 'information'.
